About Joash

Hey, im Joash Luke Reddy :)

Born in Durban, South Africa on the 17th of December 1991 and dressed in Black. Growing up in a South African/Indian background is strict but quite exciting.I have a family of five and apart from God own the big part of my heart. I am very lucky with my family being very adventurous and loving travel. I am now 18 and seeing my life unroll is probably the most exciting things ever, i have had the amazing opportunities to visit, South Africa, Australia, Malaysia, SIngapore and New Zealand and more nationally Queensland, Victoria, Melbourne and Australia’s wicked country.

I attend a church Rivergum in Rouse Hill and have had a great chance to push myself and expand in my passion for music. I have been there for about 3 and a half years now. Through Rivergum i have met many great leaders and friends. So far in my life the books Proverbs, Psalms Ecclesiastes, James, Jeremiah, Job and Ezekiel are the most enjoyable to read.

My plans for this year are a construction apprenticeship which will hopefully equip me for physically creating homes, orphanages, schools, churches, hospitals and different kinds of infrastructure for the benefit of the poor nations. Along with that i would love to start an afternoon course with Hillsong College in Theology. Another great opportunity is helping my former higher college in Chaplaincy and Youth work. Lastly this year i wish to start a Youth Band and maintain my relationship with Jesus and serve in the Music Ministry :)

Some great and funny moments in my life would have to beL

New Zealand – I walked into the airport doors with full force, a smile and a suitcase. Then gave the place a quick sus scan with my eyes then walked away like nothing happened.
Music Ministry Team – I remember the first time i got up on stage to play guitar, the funniest thing ever. After practice i turned my volume on my acoustic guitar right down then when i got up to remember to turn it on again. I forgot to turn it on and played silently in the band like i knew what i was doing. After the service i had people coming up to me saying it sounded great but we couldn’t hear you. So i went back on stage and looked at my guitar, yes to see it was on ‘0′.
Formal Night – Well it was coming upto formal and i knew i wasn’t going to go because i had to pay for alot of other things at the time. The night before the formal a few friends called me up asking me if i wanted to join in and go with them in their 300c i said im not going due to this and that and they said just come anyway, so yes i did. I got all dressed up, took pictures and hopped in the car. I arrived and they treated we like i had been going from the start! I got a seat and the whole course of food. Oh yes it was good. After the night had finished we decided order a maxi taxi that would fit 11 people but it didn’t come (when we were waiting i thought i would ask the manger of the place where taxis normally wait for people and ended up having a nice chat with him) so we decided being on a high mood we could walk home because the bus that was dropping people home didn’t have enough space to fit us all in. So out of the eleven, eight of us were left to find our own way home at 11pm at night and with 40kilometres to walk. We also had full suit attire not to forget and leather shoes, not the most comfortable things to hike and run in on highways, main roads and across traffic. So off we go, 2minutes into the walk Derryn, Ayo and I realise that there was a perfectly good and working ‘club car’ (buggy) sitting in a parking all alone. :) So we sneakily manoeuvred it out onto the streets and down we went three black guys in suits pushing and then hopping onto this club car rolling down the quite streets of we didn’t know! Probably the funniest thing ever! As we got onto the main roads we decided to get onto the pathway and met up with the other guys that kept on walking we found out that Jan and Christian have left us so we were down to 6 and a buggy. We rolled and had the best fun with this buggy for about 20mins before Jonathon though he would try his house keys in the ignition and what do you know as soon as he tried the buggies lights turned on!! and we all got excited but so did the local rangers. We came around the corner as we got this thing started! We got all our details taken down and called the manager of the place where we had our formal. He chose to let us off but waited with the rangers and the manager until we got picked up. We tried a lie that our brothers were picking us up but they didn’t fall for it so we called two taxis to pick us up, when they did we got them to stop 50 meters up the road just to get away from the rangers :) It costed a whole $7 bucks or something like that. We got of then began our journey one more time, we walked for 3 hours then decided to drop in at McDonalds. We had a good meal then were off to Auburn Station to catch a train to Blacktown then from there a train to Quakers Hill then walk our own separate ways from there. I ended up getting home at about mid6 that morning. Saying hello to everyone as they got up.

Our first trip!

Our first mission trip is in a part of India called Kalkata. We will be in India for 10 days and will be spending 5 days in the slums and the rest of the time educating and helping children in need at schools around the areas. Also spreading the love of God through compassion.
